About This Course

These five clinically focussed webinars will provide a refresher for therapists who are implementing MBT and will focus on enhancing the application and understanding of key MBT interventions. Particular attention will be given to areas raised by therapists in MBT supervision. Our aim is to support therapists to feel more confident about stimulating mentalizing and maintaining a mentalizing stance. Participation in these webinars will provide the opportunity to explore these clinical issues more deeply within the framework of a mentalizing supervision. These 90 minute webinars will share clinical examples and theoretical content to illustrate MBT principles. The format of each webinar will involve some presentation of material and some interactive discussion around the content. Participants will have an opportunity to interact with MBT accredited supervisors around these selected topics.

Margie is a clinical psychologist, turned supervisor, turned trainer and writer . Wrangling with the impact of early trauma on minds and hearts and relationships has led her through attachment theory and related accredited trainings to Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT). Margie is an accredited MBT supervisor and trainer. Margie also conducts training for clinicians on developing parental reflective functioning and other mentalization based phenomena. She has published papers on MBT and regularly presents at seminars and conferences. Margie applies the mentalizing principles to her supervision and training of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and mental health workers in juvenile justice, child protection, forensic and clinical domains. Margie maintains a private practice delivering clinical services to adults and children as well as providing education and clinical supervision to MBT\n practitioners. Margie is also an accredited practitioner of the infant-parent therapy Watch, Wait and Wonder and has trained in the use of the Parent Development Interview\n to assess Parental Reflective Functioning.
